Serverfarm development team leads all engineering and construction initiatives related to the deployment of critical capacity across the globe. The procurement team is responsible for the sourcing and contracting to support the overall corporation including Design Services, Site Preparation Services, Capital Equipment, Construction and Engineering to support new Data Center builds. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sourcing Manager for Design Services and Equipment procurement to join our team. In this role, you will oversee sourcing, contracting and purchasing of design services and equipment for Data Centers. Key Accountabilities
  • Ownership of Data Center design services and equipment procurement for sites with North America.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and Finance to align procurement with design, budget, and site needs.
  • Develop category strategies, identify new suppliers, and manage RFPs/RFQs for design services (Architectural, Mechanical Electrical and Fire Protection, Networking, Environmental, Civil and site preparation services).
  • Develop category strategies, identify new suppliers, and manage RFPs/RFQs for equipment categories as assigned (Mechanical, Electrical and tenant fit out).
  • Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, terms, and agreements (MSAs) to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
  • Review supplier proposals, prepare comparisons and cost analysis.
  • Oversee equipment from initial design/specification through delivery, installation, and commissioning, ensuring compliance and quality.
  • Identify and screen potential new suppliers that can provide beneficial pricing and or lead time to projects.
  • Escalate supplier performance issues to Procurement and Development leadership as required.
  • Build strong supplier relationships, monitor performance, conduct business reviews, and manage supplier risk.
  • Issue Purchase Orders as required.
  • Work with finance and accounting teams to resolve invoice issues as required.
  • Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of procurement experience, minimum 3 years’ data center experience required.
  • Experience working with design engineering firms for Data Centers.
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure equipment: Mechanical and Electrical.
  • Strong procurement, sourcing, and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of complex Bid Analysis and TCO.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
