ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

This position plays a critical role in driving, designing, and implementing RFID activation and Cloud Based SaaS Data Repository solutions across a variety of segments, with a focus on supplier/manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and store environments. The Field Engineer will be responsible for performing RFID Hardware installations, services, on-site diagnostics, and scope builds for our atma connected cloud solutions in Latin-America Region. Additionally, this role will be instrumental in the deployment and support of atma.io (Avery Dennison Connected Cloud Solution) solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Operates in the field on call and provides technical support, site surveys, and RFID/ATMA deployment to an assigned region. This role will interact directly with key customers,  and be an onsite presence at a customer site, while also supporting Commercial Organization, Technical Sales, Solution Engineering, and work extensively with customers by providing guidance, direction, demonstrations, and technical support in implementation of RFID technology and ATMA solutions into their supply chain. Strong RFID skills, ATMA solution expertise, problem-solving skills, and teamwork skills are an absolute must.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Focus on RFID technology and ATMA solutions while driving critical on-site project deployment from site survey to installation and customer sign-off. Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Provides installation, warranty, preventive maintenance, problem diagnosis, corrective maintenance, and training to customers on solutions deployed on-site for both RFID hardware and ATMA systems.
  • Maintains highest priority on meeting customer expectations.
  • Maintains frequent communication with sales, technical sales, and solution engineering teams to stay abreast of customer needs, new product/solution developments, and new commercial opportunities for both RFID and ATMA offerings.
  • Maintains up-to-date technical knowledge on all Avery Dennison RFID hardware solutions, software solutions, and ATMA product lines.
  • Promptly reports product operating abnormalities and/or failures and obtains samples for evaluation for both RFID and ATMA components.
  • Documents, maintains, tracks, and reports all required service and deployed related activities across the project teams.
  • System testing and quality assurance for RFID and ATMA installations.
  • Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation for both RFID and ATMA systems.

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic/Mechanical or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of Electronics or Electrical Engineer experience and field support.
  • Understands IoT, RFID, networking engineering, and thermal management principles.
  • Understands deployment considerations and facilities nuances for both RFID and Cloud Based solutions.
  • Familiarity with APIs and integrated technologies would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Ability to build demo environments and present to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Knowledge of RF hardware systems and testing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of RFID IoT technology, sensors, hardware installation, read-zones, microcontrollers, and thermal management application principles is a must.
  • Excellent communication (oral/written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a tactful and confident manner to internal and external contacts.
  • English & Spanish speaking is a must, and understanding the Portuguese language is a plus.
  • Professional and detail-oriented work ethic.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
