The Elevator Pitch

As a Solutions Engineering Intern, you will play a key role in supporting Evolv’s initiatives for a significant large-scale rental engagement running from June through mid-July. Throughout your internship, you will assist with event operations, document operational procedures, participate in coordination meetings, and, following the tournament, develop an Evolv Technologies playbook focused on best practices for large-scale rentals. 

This position provides direct, hands-on experience with our fleet of systems, encompassing data collection and analysis, event support, procedure development and refinement, as well as the creation of a comprehensive playbook for large-scale rental deployments. You will gain valuable insight into supporting major sporting events and contribute to the development of operational resources for future large-scale engagements. 

Success in the Role: Performance Outcomes

Weeks 1–3: Learn & Integrate

  • Engage with the Solutions Engineering team to understand Evolv’s products, workflows, and operational cadence. 
  • Complete the Professional Certification Service Course for Evolv Express and eXpedite. 
  • Shadow inside Solutions Engineers to perform maintenance on demo fleet units and gain hands-on expertise. 
  • Support local stadium events to observe real-world event support. 
  • Participate in internal and external sync meetings. 
  • Begin leading in-progress after-action reports to lead documentation efforts for early activities of installation, training and initial go-lives. 
  • Collect in phase data and numbers and report them daily to the Evolv Event Support Team. 

Weeks 3–4: Refinement & Development

  • Continue in-progress after-action reporting for all activities. 
  • Participate in event support for local stadiums. 
  • Begin refining procedures for the Large-Scale Rental Playbook, incorporating lessons learned. 
  • Start collecting after-action insights from the large-scale rental event for future improvements. 
  • Maintain collaboration with mentors and teams to validate evolving processes. 
  • Collect in phase data and numbers and report them daily to the Evolv Event Support Team. 

Weeks 7-10:  Deliver & Present

  • Finalize after-action reports internally and externally for all major activities. 
  • Complete and finalize the Large-Scale Rental Playbook, ensuring it reflects best practices and lessons learned. 
  • Prepare and present the playbook and key findings to the CX organization and Sports Team at Evolv. 
  • Deliver a polished summary of recommendations and improvements for future deployments. 

The Work: What type of work will you be doing?

Technical & Product Support 

  • Perform maintenance and configuration on Evolv Express® and eXpedite demo units. 
  • Assist with troubleshooting and investigations for deployed systems at events. 
  • Support development and refinement of the Large-Scale Rental Playbook for major events. 

 

Data Analysis & Reporting 

  • Collect and analyze performance and throughput data from the large-scale rental and place it into a daily report.  
  • Conduct after-action reports for planning, installation, training, event support and redeployment of our large-scale rental. 
  • Validate findings and refine recommendations based on data insights. 
  • Contribute to final deliverables such as the Large Scale rental Playbook and the final External and Internal After Action Report. 

Field & Customer Engagement Exposure 

  • Support stadium and large-scale event deployments alongside Solutions Engineers. 
  • Observe and assist with real-world customer interactions and operational workflows. 
  • Participate in event support activities to ensure smooth system performance. 
  • Gather feedback from field operations to inform playbook updates. 

Teamwork & Communication 

  • Engage in internal and external sync meetings to stay aligned with project goals. 
  • Communicate progress regularly and incorporate mentor feedback. 
  • Present final deliverables and recommendations to CX organization and Sports & Entertainment Team. 

  

Problem Solving & Adaptability 

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in field environments under time-sensitive conditions. 
  • Adapt to evolving priorities during large-scale event deployments and customer support scenarios. 
  • Develop creative solutions for unexpected challenges in system performance or operational workflows. 
  • Incorporate lessons learned from after-action reports into refined processes and playbook updates. 
  • Demonstrate flexibility by taking on diverse tasks across technical support, data analysis, and event operations. 

Where is the role located?  

The primary work location will be onsite at Evolv’s headquarters in Waltham, MA, with certain days dedicated to supporting events throughout the greater New England area. The position requires no more than five working days per week. 

 
Compensation and Transparency Statement

The base salary range for this full-time position is $20- $27/hr. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and equity, in alignment with applicable state laws. Our compensation ranges are determined based on factors such as role, level, location, market benchmarks, and internal equity. The posted range represents the good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role across U.S. locations. Actual compensation within the range will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and geographic location.
