Solutions Architect – Quote to Cash

The Solutions Architect – Quote to Cash is responsible for defining the vision and roadmap, leading the prioritization of initiatives and overseeing the solution architecture for IT applications supporting Accounting and Finance Business function. The right candidate for this role will have significant experience aligning desired business outcomes to a roadmap of IT initiatives and communicating the plan and the achievement of those outcomes to business and IT management. To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to utilize his / her deep understanding of finance processes & systems and should have worked in a manufacturing company which utilizes make to stock, make to order, reconstruct to order, and project accounting for R&D / NPI business scenarios.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior business stakeholders to assess the maturity, criticality, and state of business capabilities for accounting and finance business function.
  • Assess the use of existing and emerging technologies in supporting the area’s objectives.
  • Develop a long-term business application roadmap that addresses end-to-end business capability needs with input from industry best practices.
  • Lead the requirements definition and solution design for the major initiatives in the roadmap.
  • Oversee the design of all system changes in the area, ensuring we implement scalable, future-proof solutions.
  • Lead the prioritization of projects and enhancements in the area.
  • Work in partnership with the business to create business cases and define ROI for major initiatives.
  • Lead / participate in vendor and application evaluations to select the appropriate technology to support business needs.
  • Collaborate with IT delivery teams by providing architectural guidance to ensure successful implementations.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Analytics team in designing and developing insights capability for Finance.
  • Engage with system and process experts to perform thorough impact analysis to all connected systems with the big picture in mind.
  • Prepare executive level presentations and proposals as well as detailed requirement and design documentation.
  • Proactively seek out new system features and capabilities to address Finance challenges
  • Key applications / technology included in scope: SAP S/4 Finance, SAP S/4 RAR, SAP BRIM, and integrations with SAP Solution Quote, SAP SD, High Radius and other Finance Applications
  • Model, analyze, design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve business processes and applications in the Finance area.
  • Design, implement and support state of the art solutions for Quote to Cash and revenue accounting business processes using SAP S/4 without adding unnecessary complexity to solutions or application landscape.
  • Design, implement and support Revenue Allocation, Revenue Recognition and Lease Accounting (Lasor side leasing) functionality per US GAAP and ASC standards (including but not limited to 605 and 606 standards) without adding unnecessary complexity to solutions or application landscape.
  • Collaborate, coach and mentor business and applications teams located across the globe and in the various time zones.
  • Assist the Sr. Manager, Finance Applications in documenting, implementing, and adhering to standards, internal controls and processes for the Applications team (including Project Management Office standards and processes)
  • Ensure internal controls are followed and report exceptions immediately.
  • Remain at the forefront of industry practices and application development.

 

The Solutions Architect – Quote to Cash will work on business requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements / projects in all finance applications used by the Quote to Cash, source to manufacture, service Finance, manufacturing finance, and controlling business processes. These include but are not limited to SAP S/4 Finance, SAP RAR, BRIM, SAP S/4 Controlling, SAP Project Systems, Asset Accounting, Currency Translation and revaluation and integrations with SAP SD, Solution Quote, Subscription and Order Management, SAP FICA, and High Radius.

 

Skill/Job Requirements:

Competency Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology (master’s degree preferred) with at least 8-12 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting business applications for Finance business function for Quote to Cash, quote to cash, source to manufacture, service Finance, manufacturing finance, controlling related business processes.
  • Past experience working within relevant application platforms (SAP RAR, SAP BRIM, Quote to Cash Business Process) in an Architect role
  • Ability to influence business teams, including senior executive management, in the selection and design of technology solutions as well as implementation and support approaches.
  • Experience and expertise with SAP S/4 Finance, SAP RAR, SAP BRIM, SAP FICA and integrations with, SAP SD, SAP BRIM, Solution Quote, Subscription and Order Management, Sales Force CPQ and High Radius system is required.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, and related business processes
  • Successful track record in working on cross-functional, cross-team projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical skills, and ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Strong project and program management and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing business environment, and think proactively to identify solutions for business needs

Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidate’s qualifications, consistent with applicable law.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
