To further develop this goal, we are looking for an additional team member in our Industrial Automation team as a Solution Architect.

The department of Industrial Automation (IA) is responsible for Operational Technology in the domains: Processing Automation, Farm Automation, Building Automation, Lab Automation and Greenhouse Automation. The department has global responsibility in the field of Service Management, Automation Security, Business Support and Project Support.

The IA Solution Architect we are looking for is accountable for

  • IA Solution Design for changes and small(er) projects. Managing the end-to-end Solution Design process covering authoring Solution Designs, executing Assessments (Security, Data Privacy, etc.), contributing to Business Cases and Architecture Board Approval
  • IA Asset & Configuration Management. Documenting IA-related data & information and storing it in the respective Information systems and portals, also maintaining these IA Information Systems and Portals
  • Automation Security. Supporting the OASs in executing High-Level Risk Assessments for Automation Security
  • Business/Technical Support. Supporting the IA Technician in technical tasks and incidents. Actively participate in technical tasks on the shop floor.

Competences

  • Technical expertise. You have a good understanding of industrial automation technologies, such as SCADA, PLC, HMI, robotics and control systems.
  • You stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and standards in the industrial automation domain.
  • You understand the business objectives and requirements of the organisation and align automation solutions accordingly.
  • Being open to change and able to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of working experience
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, SCADA, PLC, HMI, and other automation technologies
  • Understanding of networking protocols and communication interfaces used in industrial automation
  • Proficiency in system integration and interoperability standards, such as OPC, MQTT, and RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, standards, and cybersecurity practices
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and communication interfaces used in industrial automation systems, such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with industrial networking hardware, such as switches and routers, is required.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools to protect industrial automation systems from cyber threats. Being able to implement security measures like firewalls, VPNs, and access controls is essential.
