Planning the further development and optimization of the system landscape. Ensuring the high availability of the infrastructure and virtualization server systems.
Main tasks, roles and responsibilities:
- Ensuring high availability and further development of the VMware virtualization environment
- Management of the company-wide Active Directory environment
- Management of the MS Exchange mail environment for all three KOSTAL world regions
- Creation of the strategy for the operation of the MS Windows server environment
- Management of the operations team in the KBS organization for the above mentioned areas
- Handover and training of roles to the service desk, as well as monitoring of the service
- 2nd level support in case of problems and malfunctions of the IT infrastructure
- Creation and monitoring of access control concepts
- Ensuring the availability of the required documentation
- Supporting IT projects during all project phases and ensuring a smooth transition into operations
- Definition and monitoring of KPIs
- Support for internal and external auditing
- In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, virtualization and network configurations
- Working with management to develop and execute strategic initiatives to improve data center performance and scalability.
- Work closely with the data center team leader to stay informed of all operational activities and proactively identify and resolve any issues or concerns that arise.
- Defining and selecting new hardware, including virtualization platforms, required for data center operations, taking into account standards and integration into the system landscape.
- Ensure that IT operations are secure and compliant and proactively managed for risk
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams to support projects and ensure seamless service delivery in data center operations
- Support server installation of hardware and software, maintenance, including experience in error analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience with management tools and software for data center
- Responding quickly to technical problems and emergencies to ensure minimal downtime and disruption.
Education
- Computer science degree or equivalent IT experience
Work experiences – time/seniority/ sector:
- At least 5 years professional experience in server and virtualization administration
Technical/ IT knowledge:
- Deep knowledge of virtualization with VMware & HyperV, Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange
- Very good knowledge of the current Microsoft server operating system
- Very good experience with Terminal server farms
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud technologies
- Project experience in the implementation of IT infrastructure projects
Language – with level
- Fluent in English (B2)
- German is an advantage
