Our mission is to deliver safe, secure, high-quality software, contributing to Toyota's evolution as a software-driven carmaker. The GQA team sets audit and assessment standards, develops audit plans, and conducts assessments. Join our team of professionals committed to software safety and quality in the automotive industry. You will report to the head of the Process Management (PM) team within GQA and follow a hybrid schedule with 3+ days in the office. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are looking for exceptional candidates for engineering roles dedicated to developing quality measures for the Arene platform, which has a main focus on the SDV software development kit and software verification and validation tools. You will help establish quality-related organizational processes and environments that support the software development kit and tool chain, including audits and assessments. Rather than only prioritizing experience in system or software development, we are also looking for individuals who are enthusiastic and motivated to build processes based on the latest technological trends, ensuring that our Arene platform maintains a strong focus on quality to meet the customer's requirements. Therefore, we need an engineer who ・Adapt and derive optimal solutions by considering diverse perspectives ・Effectively negotiate with teams using deep knowledge of quality assurance ・Foster positive relationships with team members and stakeholders ・Continuity improvement of the Arene platform quality by assessment and audit from the tool qualification perspectives RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish WbyT-wide standard processes for SDV toolchain development covering every phase of the software lifecycle — from concept to maintenance — to promote efficiency and consistent quality
  • Provide training and guidance to engineers on navigating tool qualification processes for mass production
  • Lead in-house developments of tool qualification processes, and promote a quality culture where developers adhere to qualification processes
  • Create tool qualification audit programs aligned with product development roadmaps
  • Conduct tool qualification audits, evaluating qualification processes across different projects
  • Review SDV tool chain development project work products, including Tool concept, development plans, use cases, requirement definition, and verification/validation results for qualification of the tools
  • Document tool qualification to support accountability and traceability
  • Define the improvement plan with the project owner and support the engineering team to improve the quality to meet the qualification requirements
  • Continuously improve the tool qualification process by conducting trend research on competitors in the automotive industry
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of experience in software development and tool chain development
  • Experience leading automotive tool chain development or qualification(e.g, CANoe, SILS/HILS for ADAS)
  • Audit and assessment experience in software development and tool chain development
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and automotive industry best practices, like Automotive SPICE/IT SPICE/ISO 26262 tool qualification
  • Working knowledge of Quality and Audit Management Systems, with hands-on experience implementing ISO 9001 and ISO 19011
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with multiple stakeholders
  • NICE TO HAVES
  • Proficiency in Japanese
  • Work experience as a tool vendor (e.g, Vector, dSpace)
  • Knowledge and experience in software cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434)
  • Knowledge and experience in AI safety (ISO/PAS 8800)
  • Knowledge and experience in AutoSar/SOC/Basic platform software development
  • Training experience in automotive-related standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF, automotive standards for AI/ML)
  • Experience in providing user support from installation through operation and maintenance
