Software Tester

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $95k-$103k annually (depending on experience)

Work Location: This is a remote position (see on-site requirements below).

**On-Site Requirements: On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD for candidates that are local to the area. Candidates out of state will be onboarded virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, however for local candidates, training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received. 

Essential Functions:

• Develop detailed test plans and procedures for test cases/scenarios based on requirements to identify software problems and their causes.
• Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
• Document software and application defects using the Government approved bug tracking system; collaborate with software developers/engineers to ensure software corrections are remedied.
• Develop and maintain standard test metrics.
• Participate in software design reviews to provide input on requirements, operational characteristics, product designs and schedules.
• Other duties as assigned or required. 

Requirements

Required:

• Candidate must possess excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Experience using Application Lifecycle Management tools (Jira).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.).
• A minimum of 5 years of related experience testing web applications.

Desired:

• Desire to tackle new challenges and willingness to support helpdesk and training functions when needed as surge support.
• Provide technical assistance to application users. Answer questions or resolve user issues for clients in person, via telephone, or electronically.

Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, Interim clearance acceptable to start. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required. Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
