Software Quality Engineer 2

Our Software Quality Engineering team ensures that our next-generation software is of the highest quality. We conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that our software meets or exceeds end-user requirements. We debug software products, oversee the development of test plans, ensure system tests are documented, analyze the results, provide feedback to developers and make sure that all problems are resolved. We also select testing specifications for new products and ensure testing procedures comply with industry-specific standards.

What you’ll achieve

As a Software Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for testing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment. You will work with product management, other engineering teams, customer success and support on testing new product features and enhancements across various areas of Boomi offerings.

You will:

• Be a key member of an Agile team, collaboratively realizing features through the Software development lifecycle.
• Create and maintain test cases 
• Work independently with minimal guidance from technical leadership.
• Collaborate with other developers and quality engineers including design and test reviews.
• Gather information to help formulate acceptance criteria, be a user advocate, and be comfortable challenging and discussing the intent of stories to surface edge cases and improve outcomes.
• Apply development and technical skills to all aspects of QA, including manual testing, integration testing and automated tests including the setting up of production-like environments.
• Mentor Junior Testers in the team and help them grow their skills and deliver

Essential Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of experience in manual and optional automated testing.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright) is a plus.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of the entire Test and defect Lifecycle
• Knowledge and experience in designing Test Strategies, and defining specific Test Cases or Scenarios that align with project requirements.
• Excellent communication skills to report testing status and results effectively.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies as needed.

Desirable Requirements

• Background in Computer Science and programming in Java.
• Experience with IDE such as IntelliJ/Eclipse & source control systems & continuous integration tools such as GIT, bitbucket, etc.
• Familiarity with SQL queries, relational database systems, and ORM tools like Hibernate.
