Primary Function of Position: 

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for designing, documenting, and executing software verification activities—primarily through manual testing—with additional support for automation as appropriate. The role focuses on verifying and validating medical equipment and related software functions according to established requirements and specifications, ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and product reliability. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze system and software requirements to understand intended behaviors and critical functionality. 
  • Design and document detailed test cases, test plans, and procedures aligned with project specifications and quality standards. 
  • Execute manual tests to verify and validate system performance, reliability, and safety. 
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for selected modules/features, supporting the overall test strategy. 
  • Document test execution results and maintain detailed records of defects, issues, and resolutions. 
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and product teams to clarify requirements and resolve defects. 
  • Support continuous improvements in test processes, tools, and documentation practices. 
  • Adhere to company policies, regulatory standards, and established best practices for medical device testing. 
  • Participate in review and audit activities as required.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.  
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, or other relevant education or experience 
  • Software Testing Expertise: Strong understanding of manual and automated testing principles and QA best practices. 
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Knowledge of SDLC models and their impact on test planning and execution. 
  • Test Case Development: Ability to create, execute, and maintain detailed test plans and cases. 
  • Defect Management: Skilled in managing the bug lifecycle from discovery through resolution and verification. 
  • Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, ALM). 
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively across global teams.
