The Enterprise Applications Engineering team is the central software innovation partner for all of Zoox. We work across every facet of the company, including manufacturing, fleet operations, vehicle development, and corporate functions, to understand their unique challenges and build the critical software solutions that power their work. In this role, you’ll lead and grow a team of Application Engineers responsible for designing and delivering scalable, high-quality enterprise applications. You’ll combine strong technical judgment with people leadership to elevate engineering practices, drive modern development methodologies, and help shape how enterprise software is built across the company.
In this role you will:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of application engineers, fostering strong engineering culture and best practices
Guide teams to solve complex problems by identifying root causes and designing elegant, reusable solutions
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, reliable enterprise applications
Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including agile methodologies, CI/CD, and automated testing
Partner cross-functionally to deliver features aligned with Zoox’s strategic and operational goals
Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of people management experience, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management
Strong technical background in software engineering with hands-on experience in Python, Java, or C++
Proven experience leading software teams and evolving development practices at scale
Experience building and operating distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications
Bonus Qualifications
Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other complex hardware-software domains
Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and applying it in large systems
Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
Formal experience or certification as an Agile Coach or Scrum Master
Track record of leading organizational or team-level engineering transformations
