Software Engineering Manager (Python & AWS)

**This is a direct‑hire role with our client in Minneapolis, MN, working in a hybrid setup. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**

This is a rare opportunity to shape the technology direction of a fast-growing organization in a role operating at the intersection of private alternatives, FinTech, and modern cloud engineering. You’ll lead a talented engineering team building mission-critical, Python-based platforms while working closely with senior leadership, including direct visibility to executive leadership. This role is ideal for a technically hands-on leader who stays deeply informed on the evolving PE and FinTech technology landscape and is excited to bring cutting-edge ideas into production.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 5+ full stack engineers delivering high-impact applications in the private alternatives space.

• Own the architecture, development, and evolution of ~15 Python-based applications (Flask, FastAPI), remaining hands-on where it matters most.

• Design and optimize cloud-native, containerized solutions on AWS, including infrastructure, scalability, and resilience.

  Drive modern CI/CD best practices, enabling rapid, reliable delivery across teams.

• Serve as a trusted technical voice, presenting solutions to non-technical stakeholders and translating business goals into elegant engineering outcomes.

• Champion a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Actively explore and embed AI/ML capabilities into applications and engineering workflows to unlock efficiency and insight.

• Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring the organization remains technologically competitive within PE and FinTech.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on background as a full stack engineer with deep expertise in Python, Flask, and FastAPI.

• Proven experience leading teams in modern, cloud-first environments.

• Deep knowledge of AWS, containers, and distributed systems.

• Demonstrated success building and scaling CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or similar).

• Exceptional communicator who can engage confidently with both engineers and business leaders.

• A mindset that blends technical rigor with commercial awareness, especially in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with TypeScript and React.

• Background in financial services, private equity, or consulting.

• Practical AI/ML experience, whether in product features or workflow automation.

• Familiarity with Snowflake, DBT, and modern data engineering stacks.
