Creating first-class user experiences, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving robust technical solutions to deliver quality user experiences with our partners to enable and empower players around the world. UI Engineers thrive in a multi-discipline environment - collaborating closely with designers, artists, and product owners to create, evolve, and maintain the systems and processes that create smooth interactions for players to deeply engage with games.

Our ideal candidates will have experience working within game development teams to create impactful user experiences, as well as a passion for games themselves. Knowledge of, and hunger to learn, UI system design, framework architecture, and platform best practices are preferred.

Please note: We have the internal structure to support someone looking to grow or a seasoned veteran ready to drive from day one. Final levelling (Intermediate vs. Senior) will be determined based on the candidate's portfolio, interview performance, and years of relevant experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Feature Development: Implement, maintain, and collaborate on new UI features, systems and workflows within client engines.

  • UI Framework Implementation: Develop and optimize UI frameworks, building asset workflows and implementation tools to enable designers and artists to provide engaging UI experiences.

  • Critical Problem Solving: Leverage advanced debugging techniques to solve complex problems across multiple systems.

  • Discipline Collaboration: Independently collaborate with designers, artists, and product leads to break down system requirements, and triage implementation features.

  • Code Review: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and set an example of quality code implementation that adheres to coding standards.

WHAT WE VALUE:

  • Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in C++ or C#, and experience with UI frameworks: including a deep understanding of layout architectures, component optimizations, and input handling.

  • Engineering Excellence: A commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, with a focus on quality and best practices.

  • Feature Ownership: Experience as the primary owner of a large feature or system within a shipped product.

  • Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Able to frame discussions between engineers, producers, designers, artists, and project leads.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.

  • Passion for Gaming: A genuine passion for video games and a desire to contribute to creating engaging and enjoyable experiences for players. Knowledge of current industry UI trends.

  • Interest in Learning: Eagerness to learn about other technologies and practices to stay current and versatile.

WHAT YOU MAY ALSO HAVE:

  • Console Experience: Experience developing for, and UI platform knowledge of, current-generation consoles (e.g., Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5) is a plus.

  • Mentorship Skills: Previous experience coaching, teaching or mentoring less experienced UI engineers to learn new technical and collaboration skills.

  • Communication Skills: Previous experience working with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, provide support, and problem solve.
