We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Staff Software Engineer to lead our API team and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading the technical effort for the design, development, and maintenance of our platform/utility team and related services.
- Collaborating with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements and translate them into actionable technical tasks.
- Take the lead position in the implementation, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable platform services.
- Reviewing code, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and guidelines.
- Participating in architecture and design discussions, contributing to the overall technical vision and direction of the team.
- Continuously improving the performance, reliability, and security of our platform.
- Identifying and addressing technical debt, refactoring code, and driving improvements in the team's software development processes and practices.
- Assisting in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus
- 2+ years of software development experience, with a focus on API design and development.
- Experience of managing or leading a team of software engineers is a plus.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices
- Proficiency in Java development and Spring Boot framework.
- Familiarity with API documentation tools, such as Swagger or API Blueprint
- Knowledge of security standards and practices, including but not limited to OAuth, SAML and JWT
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of micro-service architecture and containerization technologies is a plus. Experience with API gateway is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services preferred
