Overview A leading engineering services provider supporting advanced U.S. Army aviation programs is seeking Software Engineers to join a mission-critical avionics development team. These roles support a next-generation vertical lift aircraft program focused on modernizing military aviation capabilities. This is a fully on-site role in Owego, NY. Key Responsibilities Develop, integrate, and test software for safety- and mission-critical avionics systems Implement algorithms and features within C/C++ applications Design, debug, and validate real-time embedded software Collaborate with cross-functional hardware and systems engineering teams Support documentation, defect resolution, and performance verification Assist with certification efforts and compliance to safety standards Required Qualifications U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. passport Active DoD Secret clearance (clearable candidates considered, preference for active clearance) Residence in New York State Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field 2+ years of software engineering experience Strong proficiency in C++ (C and/or Python a plus) Experience working in Agile development environments Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Avionics, mission systems, or cockpit systems experience FACE technical standards for reusable software Software product line development Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), preferably CAMEO Experience with Git, Docker, command-line scripting, and Wireshark RTOS experience such as VxWorks Integration and test of avionics software and operational flight programs Why Consider This Role Work on a high-visibility U.S. Army aviation program Flexible work schedules Competitive compensation and strong conversion package including benefits, PTO, 401(k), and education assistance
