Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the development team of D3E, an end-to-end software solution for credit portfolio analytics providing data warehousing, descriptive analytics, and large-scale machine learning facilities. You will contribute to the evolution of our data processing infrastructure, working with distributed systems, cloud technologies, and supporting data-driven initiatives across the organization.

The Software Engineer will join the product development team and be responsible for:

• Contributing to the development of D3E at every layer of the technology stack, including distributed computational processes on Spark, AWS and Azure and batch processes on top of SQL Server. A willingness to engage with multiple technologies is a prerequisite;
• Building and maintaining data pipelines and processing workflows that support business requirements;
• Participating in product brainstorming, roadmap elaboration, design, prototyping and development activities;
• Working closely with data scientists, engineers, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions΄;
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.
  

To achieve the above, the software engineer will have access to the knowledge acquisition and training processes of the department, as well as to its client-facing activities, and will have a say in the elaboration of departmental methodologies and best practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in application development of enterprise IT software systems and applications;
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant field of study;
• Extensive knowledge of C#, the .NET framework and modern source code revision control concepts and workflows (e.g., GIT);
• Hands-on experience with Linux systems and command-line tools;
• Strong relational database skills including data modelling and complex queries. Awareness on concurrency, tuning and optimization will be appreciated;
• Familiarity with “Big Data” storage and processing infrastructures (HDFS, YARN, Spark). Experience with non-relational data storage and retrieval concepts (e.g., column-oriented, document, or multidimensional datastores) will be appreciated;
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services such as Azure, AWS, or GCP;
• Familiarity with data engineering fundamentals will be considered a plus;
• Ability to understand and work with theoretical concepts. A solid mathematical grounding and a willingness to engage with statistics, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, and machine learning is needed;
• Good verbal and written communication and cooperation skills in both Greek and English.
