Divergent is a technology company that has architected, invented, built, and commercialized an end-to-end factory system called the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) that comprehensively uses machine learning to optimally engineer, additively manufacture, and flexibly assemble complex integrated vehicle structures and subsystems. Products created using DAPS are superior in performance, lower in cost, rapidly customizable to meet mission and customer-specific requirements, faster to market, and scalable on demand to high volume production. Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs, and Divergent is now expanding to support mission critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector. Join us to be a part of this transformative journey, where your impact will shape the future of technology and production.
We are building the software that powers the next generation of vehicle manufacturing. Our tools support the entire product development pipeline — from structural design and simulation to program generation, AI-assisted decision-making, and real-time web applications. As a new graduate, you'll join a high-impact team working at the intersection of hardware, software, and advanced manufacturing.
As a Software Engineer, you will help develop and support tools that enable efficient, intelligent, and scalable design and manufacturing of vehicle structures. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing experts, contributing to projects that may include:
Developing modern web applications to streamline engineering and manufacturing workflows
Building algorithms for program generation, design automation, and computational engineering
Applying AI/ML to optimize engineering, business, and production systems
Supporting structural analysis, simulation workflows, and topology optimization tools
Bridging mechanical engineering principles with software to create production-ready solutions
This is a hands-on role where your code will directly impact how real products are designed, built, and delivered.
Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls
Graduating in Dec 2025 or Spring 2026 with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++)
Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies
Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, Django, FastAPI)
Exposure to CAD or simulation tools (SolidWorks, NX, FEA libraries, etc.)
Knowledge of REST APIs and database systems (SQL or NoSQL)
Experience or coursework in computational design, topology optimization, or generative algorithms
Interest in AI/ML, especially applied to engineering or production systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
On-site role with close collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and software groups
