Role Purpose

As a Software Engineer on Mannaʼs Ordering team, youʼll design, build, and improve the systems that power how customers place orders and how operators fulfil them reliably at scale.

Youʼll work across backend services, modern web applications, and production systems to solve real business problems, ship pragmatic solutions, and own outcomes from idea to production. This role is best suited to someone who enjoys moving quickly, taking responsibility, and building high-quality software with strong engineering judgment.

What youʼll do

Build product systems end-to-end

Design, build, test, and maintain software that supports customer ordering and operational workflows.

Take ownership of meaningful problems from discovery through delivery, rollout, and iteration

Work across multiple layers of the stack to deliver reliable, production ready solutions. 

Build excellent web experiences

Develop and improve modern web applications using React and related frontend technologies.

Help create intuitive, high-quality user experiences for both customers and internal operators.

Contribute to frontend architecture, performance, and maintainability.

Solve practical business problems

Work closely with engineers, product stakeholders, and operational teams to understand real-world problems and turn them into effective software.

Make sound tradeoffs between speed, quality, simplicity, and long-term maintainability.

Focus on solving customer and business needs rather than over engineering solutions.

Maintain high production standards

Build systems that are reliable, observable, and performant in production.

Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to code reviews and engineering standards.

Help troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and raise the quality bar across the team.

Contribute as a strong teammate

Communicate clearly, collaborate well, and bring energy to a fast-moving environment.

Operate with ownership, urgency, and comfort with ambiguity.

Use modern engineering tools, including AI-assisted development tools, with strong judgment and care.

Requirements

Strong software engineering experience building production systems in a modern backend or full-stack environment.

Strong hands-on experience with modern web technologies, especially React or similar frontend frameworks.

Proven ability to take ownership of problems end-to-end and deliver high quality outcomes.

Strong product and engineering judgment, with the ability to solve business problems pragmatically.

Experience working in fast-moving environments with changing priorities and ambiguity.

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

A high bar for software quality, reliability, and performance.

Desirable

Experience with high-volume or event-driven systems.

Experience working across both frontend and backend in customer-facing product teams.

Start-up or scale-up experience.

Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools effectively, while validating outputs with strong critical thinking and judgment.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
