Software Engineer

LearnUpon is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Belgrade.

As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering features, services, enhancements, and fixes for LearnUpon's core product. You'll contribute to the creation of a scalable, best-in-class LMS while strengthening our company culture.

• Angular, AngularJS, VanillaJS, TypeScript
• Ruby on Rails, Golang, Kafka
• MySQL, Redis, TimescaleDB
• AWS S3, SNS, SES
• Datadog, Prometheus

What will I be doing?

• Actively improving the level of craftsmanship in our code and designs
• Collaborating with the team to drive impact and innovation by designing, building and shipping software at scale
• Drive impact and innovation by designing, building, and shipping software at scale
• Actively improve code quality and design craftsmanship
• Identify and leverage opportunities to enhance engineering productivity
• Collaborate closely with other Engineers and Product team members

What skills do I need?                                                                                  

• 2+ years of experience in software design and development in an object-oriented programming language such as Ruby, C#, Java
• Can appreciate technology agnostic solutions for a clear company vision
• Experience with understanding and implementing Agile-focused best practices
• Experience building highly-available, scalable applications in an online, nearline, and offline environment
• Experience with relational-databases and query performance
• Excellent communication skills

Not required but considered a big plus

• Exposure to Amazon Web Services
• Previous experience of eLearning technologies
• Experience with a client-side JavaScript framework
• Experience troubleshooting HTTP and application performance issues

• Successful candidates will then be invited to a series of practical interviews
• Finally, candidates will have a short interview with a member of our C-Suite Team
