This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the technical direction of advanced engineering simulation software. You will oversee the design, architecture, and delivery of complex desktop applications, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and high-performing. The position combines hands-on development, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration, giving you the chance to influence both product strategy and engineering excellence. You will work in a dynamic environment tackling challenging problems that directly impact software used in critical industrial processes. Your contributions will enhance efficiency, reliability, and innovation across multiple technical domains.
Accountabilities:
Leading the architecture of platform subsystems, including databases, calculation engines, APIs, and UI frameworks, with a focus on scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
Overseeing technical delivery from requirements to release, translating complex business needs into clear technical solutions.
Investigating and resolving complex performance issues, multi-module bugs, and technical escalations.
Conducting code reviews, mentoring engineers, and promoting best practices for maintainable, scalable software.
Collaborating with QA on test strategies and CI/CD pipeline improvements, while sharing knowledge across the team.
Providing technical insights during roadmap planning and highlighting areas of technical debt or improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings extensive technical experience, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative mindset. Key qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of experience in desktop software development, with strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++14 or later).
Experience developing Windows applications using Visual Studio (2019 or later) and navigating large, legacy codebases.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills for complex, multi-module systems.
Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively to product managers, QA, support, and peers.
Preferred experience includes designing unified API interfaces, working with COM/OPC, relational databases (SQLite, ODBC), scripting for automation (Python, PowerShell), modern licensing platforms, and Windows UI development with MFC.
