WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

Box is the market leader in Cloud Content Management, powering how the world works together. The Box Apps team is building an intelligent no‑code builder that helps enterprises create content‑powered applications in hours, not weeks. We combine content, metadata, workflows, and users to drive productivity at scale with intuitive drag‑and‑drop creation, dynamic dashboards, and AI‑driven insights.

We’re expanding our engineering hub in Warsaw to accelerate innovation across EMEA and globally. As a Software Engineer on Box Apps, you’ll ship user‑facing features end‑to‑end, improve quality and reliability, and help define how digital enterprises build on Box.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop high-quality, scalable, and responsive software using modern technologies.

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with product, design, and backend partners to evolve APIs, data models, and end‑to‑end user experiences.

  • Write clear technical specs and documentation; improve onboarding and dev environment docs.

  • Build robust tests (unit, integration, e2e) with tools like Jest, Playwright, WebDriverIO; contribute to CI/CD stability.

  • Participate in Agile planning; break down work, estimate, and deliver to quarterly objectives.

  • Contribute to code reviews and engineering standards to raise code quality.

  • Join the production on‑call rotation to help maintain service health and respond to incidents.

  • Foster Box culture in our Warsaw office and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.

  • Strong coding skills with demonstrated proficiency in Java or Node.js

  • Familiarity with React.js and TypeScript.

  • Experience designing and implementing APIs and services; solid grasp of system design and data modeling.

  • Proven ability to design, build, and deploy high-quality software.

  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software design principles, and object-oriented programming.

  • Hands‑on with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cucumber, PlaywrightWebDriverIO) and CI‑driven workflows.

  • Clear communicator who turns requirements into milestones and follows through in an Agile environment.

  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and bias‑to‑action with strong ownership.

  • English proficiency required.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with public cloud (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

  • Experience in open‑source contributions or fast‑paced, highly collaborative teams.

Boxers are expected to work from their assigned office a minimum of 3 days per week, focusing on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
