About the Team:

You will be part of the AI Team at Helpshift. We are responsible for developing AI features like AI Agent, Smart Intents, etc. by leveraging custom models & generative AI. The team consists of backend (ML) engineers & data scientists.

Description:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop features that enhance our product offerings & create meaningful impact for our customers.
  • Write performant & maintainable code to meet high scale while ensuring consistency across the codebase.
  • Continuously monitor & improve performance of existing systems.
  • Identify bottlenecks & bugs in the system and proactively resolve them for a seamless user experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies & explore their applicability in our product offerings to improve user experience.
  • Guide junior members of the team, fostering their growth & development.

Requirements

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • 4-6 years of medium to large scale backend development experience
  • Thorough understanding of CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, etc.
  • Hands-on experience on POSIX compliant OSs: Linux, MacOS
  • Experience designing & building scalable systems with: Mongo, Yugabyte/Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience writing tested code (unit, functional & regression tests)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic & sense of ownership
  • Curiosity & a strong willingness to learn

Nice to Have:

  • Experience building systems for AI applications
  • Experience benchmarking performance & detecting failures/regressions
  • Strong understanding of Python
