Software Engineer (full-stack)

Why this role matters:

The team is responsible for multiple communication solutions across different platforms within Vonage.

We are currently in the process of building our next huge project. We’re creating the CHAT API solution, adding the ability to offer a complete chat capability that contains team messaging, SMS, mms, WhatsApp, email and Facebook domains into Vonage platform. The CHAT API is going to be used across the entire organization in various different products.

The team is working end to end on all aspects of the product - from UI to Backend and on maintaining the stack.

Your key responsibilities:

• Working on end-to-end projects in a full-stack backend oriented role, aligned with your skills and career goals.
• Taking a key role in building and leading the team from an Architecture perspective.
• Designing, researching, developing and testing the functional and non-functional areas.
• Onboarding and mentoring new team members. 
• You will help build a reliable continuous improvement process and ensure efficient delivery at high level. 

What you'll bring

Required:

• 4+ years of experience years as a full-stack/backend software engineer with Java, Typescript, Relational/Non relational databases and cloud solutions
• Expertise working on large scale complex software systems and leading delivery cycles. 
• Experience working with multiple releases with Agile methodologies in a service or SaaS environment
• Experience with modern web frameworks such as Vue.JS / AngularJS / React
• Develop and implement strategies to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance while aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives
• Understanding of system architecture, and distributed systems
• Ability to manage a full application development cycle from requirements to production
• Great collaboration and English skills, working with other team members across the world

Experience we consider a plus:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with Kafka, AWS, cloud infrastructure (K8S, EC2, ECS, Docker, Ansible) and CI/CD technologies (GitHub actions, Helm Chart, Argo CD)
• Development experience working with microservices
