About this role in the team:

Our product and engineering organisation is split into small autonomous squads empowered to own their problem space. You’ll be expected to form strong opinions and execute in a fast but sustainable way, advocating for the simplest solution that achieves the outcomes our customers are looking for. 

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our product team to iterate fast and deliver results
• Translate from technical to non-technical with stakeholders across the business
• Work with our product designers to create a best in class user experience for our customers
• Advocate for the simplest but most effective approach in everything we do
• Ensure our products are built in a future proof way
• Contribute to our engineering culture and standards to help us perform better

Experience & Expertise:

• 5+ years experience working with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Webpack/Vite/Rollup, Test Driven Development, and Design Systems or Component Libraries spanning multiple systems.
• Proven ability to design, architect, debug, test, and create well-documented code.
• Production experience with micro frontends and module federation.
• Direct experience using testing frameworks such as React Testing Library, Jest, Vitest, and MSW.
• Experience with state management tools like Jotai, React Query, and React Context.
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and Shadcn to bring designs to life.
• Understanding of common design patterns and principles, and how/when to apply them.
• Demonstrated ability to translate abstract challenges into clear, actionable steps and solutions.
• Experience with SSR/SSG frameworks
• Understanding of web performance optimization and accessibility standards

Nice to Haves

• Experience with AWS services like S3, CloudFront, Lambda for frontend deployments
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for automated deployments
• Proficiency with error monitoring and performance tracking tools 
• Experience with analytics and user behavior tracking tools
• Understanding of payment systems

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment.
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset for pragmatic decision-making.
• Adapt quickly to new information, switch context when needed and constantly drive to resolution
• Proven ability to mentor and guide team members in front-end development best practices
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners (engineering, design, product, and data science)
• You take a thoughtful, practical approach to problem-solving that considers tradeoffs and avoids over-engineering
