We are seeking a creative and self-driven Software Engineer to become part of our diverse and collaborative team. This exciting role offers the chance to contribute to the creation of innovative solutions while also maintaining and improving existing systems.

In this position, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software by engaging in the entire development lifecycle—participating in new projects, enhancing current applications, and addressing technical issues.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analyse new requirements and provide impact assessments, including technical design and task breakdown
  • Estimate work using both story points and time-based approaches
  • Produce low-level designs to support functional requirements
  • Actively contribute to technical discussions and solution design
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance high-quality, scalable code
  • Apply SOLID principles and secure coding practices aligned with our Secure Software Development Lifecycle
  • Write efficient unit tests and ensure code reliability
  • Build high-performing applications and optimized database queries
  • Perform unit testing and support integration activities
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and support issues
  • Ensure compliance with Civica’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System

Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in spoken English
  • Proactive, self-driven, and detail-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with lateral thinking ability
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • An ongoing commitment to learning

Mandatory technical Skills:

    • C# with .NET Core (Web API)
    • Angular (version 2 or above)
    • JavaScript / TypeScript
    • HTML, CSS
    • SQL Server and database development

Nice to Have

    • Web API / WCF / Web Services
    • Front-end testing frameworks (Jasmine, Karma, Jest)
    • .NET unit testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest)
    • Azure DevOps / GitHub (Boards, Git)
