When: ASAP! We are looking to hire and onboard a new hire as soon as we find the right person for the job. Exciting work awaits! 

Where: Our office hub location of Seattle – you will be required to be in office 1+ days per week in alignment with our office work policy.

Why: You’ll design, build, and maintain software components that are critical to Spotnana’s platform, collaborating with your team to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. This role provides opportunities to develop strong engineering fundamentals, work with shared components and frameworks, and grow by tackling meaningful technical challenges.

How (to land the job!): The process begins with a take-home technical assessment designed to showcase your skills. Candidates who move forward will then have a conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team, followed by live collaboration with a panel of engineers and hiring managers. The process is subject to change.

The day-to-day: 

  • Design and develop high-quality cloud-native services within the Spotnana platform.
  • Contribute to product reliability and customer satisfaction through testing, debugging, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, and teammates to drive craftsmanship and innovation.
  • Promote strong engineering practices and a supportive, healthy team culture.
  • Share knowledge and mentor others to help grow engineering talent across the team.

Skills & Qualities we value:

  • 2+ years of software development experience in products or SaaS, with strong skills in data structures and algorithms (Java preferred, but other languages welcome).
  • Background in backend distributed systems and cloud-native development, including building reusable components and designing scalable APIs.
  • Experience with software design, architecture, and working on cross-functional or multi-team projects.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.
  • Willing and able to work in an open office environment.
  • Experience in front-end component/framework development using Javascript frameworks (such as Typescript, ES6, React, React Native, Apollo, or VueJS or AngularJS, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures) will be a plus.
  • Experience with using LLM services and building highly scalable web services, such as building an application using ChatGPT API and building a web service on AWS (or other cloud providers), will be a strong plus.

Spotnana strives to offer fair, industry-competitive and equitable compensation. Our approach holistically assesses total compensation, including cash (salary + annual performance bonus), company equity and comprehensive benefits. Our market-based compensation approach uses data from trusted third party compensation sources to set salary ranges that are thoughtful and consistent with the role, industry, company size, and internal equity of our team. Each employee is paid within the minimum and maximum of their position’s compensation range based on their skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related specifications. 

The base salary range for this role is $126,000 - $165,650 per year.
