Come be a part of our team and shape a better future.  Position Overview  We are looking for a driven and experienced, permanent/full-time Backend Engineer to join our team.  As a Backend Engineer, you will work closely with our team to develop, test, and maintain software solutions that meet our clients’ needs, and play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration and deployment of our cutting-edge solutions for our clients.    Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Build optimal backend applications that are performant at scale.
  • Support the entire application lifecycle, including concept, design, testing systems.
  • Design and and implement complex software, scope projects, implement code reviews, manage and train engineering teams as needed.
  • Work with product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and use cases.
  • Work in an agile manner to efficiently meet users' needs.
  • Ensure that best practices are adhered to during all phases of the software lifecycle.
  • Minimal Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years professional software back end experience.
  • Familiarity with analytics, data structures, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and software infrastructure (Terraform, GitHub Actions and/or AWS CloudFormation).
  • Expertise in backend frameworks (Java, JAvaScript, Spring Boot, Spark, Flask) and API’s (OpenAPI), with strong proficiency in programming languages including Python and R.  
  • Experience with building APIs and working with databases. 
  • Experience in pulling and calculating claims measures and creating reports.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, preferably SAFe. 
  • Ability to work as a team player and deliver results in a remote cross-functional and cross-cultural working environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
  • Must reside in the Continental US.
  • Depending on the government agency, specific requirements may include public trust background check or security clearance.
  • Preferred Requirements
  • Experience at CMS (Center of Medicare & Medicaid) or in the health industry.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Engineer).
  • Proficiency in SAS programming and statistical analysis.
