Software Engineer

The team is part of many exciting and complex projects across a range of initiatives. We are the experts in Avaloq for securities trading, transaction reporting, securities settlement, reconciliation and corporate actions. Collaborating with customers and partners, we develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet market demands. You will have the opportunity to develop software in PL/SQL plus our own Avaloq Script language.

• Collaborate with the team lead, product owner, business analysts and fellow software engineers
• Write solution designs for new developments and participate in reviews with technical leads and architects
• Participate in client workshops and support our business analysts in requirements analysis
• Design, develop and maintain solutions and improve existing functionalities
• Develop and maintain automated tests to conduct quality assurance
• Work with an Agile mindset and within Agile processes, using ticketing platforms (Jira)

• Proven track record of working in a software development role
• Experience and sound comprehension of database technologies (SQL, Oracle, PL/SQL)
• Knowledge of Java. Knowledge of Python, C++ or similar can also be valuable
• Willingness to learn and understand the business needs and sims to provide clean designs and high-quality code
• Ability to approach complex technical and business problems with a conceptual and analytical mindset, plus be structured and self-directed in the approach to a task

It would be a real bonus if you have:

• Experience working in Financial Services, a FinTech or securities trading
• Experience with trading system IT vendors
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Knowledge in domain-specific standards for securities trading: FIX protocol, SWIFT MT or MX (ISO20022)
