Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead our dynamic team in designing and developing a state-of-the-art cloud-based SaaS application. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical depth across backend and frontend systems, a proven track record of team leadership, and experience leveraging modern AI capabilities including agentic AI to enhance engineering productivity, system intelligence, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software developers and QA engineers skilled in Java, Python, React, and Node.js in the development of our SaaS application.
  • Manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle including planning, design, development, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and operational teams to ensure alignment with business goals, customer needs, and operational requirements.
  • Provide strong technical leadership, driving best practices in code quality, testing, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted and agentic AI development practices, enabling teams to leverage AI agents for tasks such as code generation, test automation, debugging, and workflow orchestration.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate agentic AI capabilities into the product, such as intelligent automation, decision-making workflows, and autonomous system behaviors.
  • Establish best practices for the responsible and effective use of AI tools in the software development lifecycle.
  • Review and approve development releases and manage the release process.
  • Monitor emerging technology trends, particularly in AI/ML and agentic systems, and guide their adoption where appropriate.
  • Ensure delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-quality software systems.
  • Mentor and support team members through coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Manage day-to-day administrative responsibilities including reporting, hiring, and team performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10–15 years of software development experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Python, with experience in JavaScript frameworks such as React and Node.js.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and SaaS architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code copilots, test generation tools) and familiarity with agentic AI concepts such as autonomous agents, multi-agent systems, or workflow orchestration is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and evaluate new technologies, including AI-driven development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead projects from concept to deployment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience managing distributed and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • GIS experience is a plus.
