About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled SDET 3 to join our Marketplace Team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API testing and automation, excellent coding skills, and hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and reliable marketplace solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for APIs and web applications
Lead API testing efforts, including functional, integration, regression, and contract testing
Build and enhance API automation suites with robust validation and reporting
Develop end-to-end automation using Playwright with TypeScript
Write clean, maintainable, and scalable test automation code following best practices
Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and product teams to understand requirements and identify test scenarios
Drive shift-left testing practices and ensure test coverage early in the development lifecycle
Review test cases, automation code, and provide mentorship to junior SDETs
Participate in CI/CD pipeline integration and ensure automation runs as part of release pipelines
Proactively identify quality risks and drive improvements in testing strategies and processes
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in Software Testing/SDET roles
Strong expertise in API testing (REST, JSON, HTTP, authentication mechanisms)
Proven experience in API automation frameworks
Excellent coding skills with TypeScript / JavaScript
Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation
Strong understanding of test design patterns, automation best practices, and SDET principles
Experience with tools such as Postman, Swagger, REST clients, or similar
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
Solid understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies
Nice to Have:
Experience testing marketplace platforms, integrations, or third-party APIs
Knowledge of contract testing (Pact or similar)
Experience with performance testing of APIs
Exposure to cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Experience mentoring or leading QA initiatives
