Social Media Manager - Temporary, Project-based

Westbrook Media is seeking a talented Social Media Manager for a 3-6 month-long project.  In this role, you will take the reins in curating content and overseeing key social platforms for Westbrook talent.   Under the supervision of the SVP of Talent Digital Strategy & Innovation, you will be pivotal in curating captivating content and managing key social platforms for Westbrook talent.  Leveraging your expertise, innovative instincts, and extensive network of creators, you will collaborate closely with internal teams to craft compelling social posts, utilizing cutting-edge tools to ensure maximum engagement and impact.   

Additionally, you will be the mastermind behind a meticulously organized posting calendar, ensuring timely and impactful content delivery. Your expertise will play a key role in developing innovative strategies, enabling us to effectively reach and captivate our target demographics.

Please note that applicants must be based in the Los Angeles area. 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and publish content on talent social media channels, including daily community management.
  • Develop and pitch ideas for posts based on a growth-focused social media strategy.
  • Monitor online cultural trends, formats, growth strategies, and user behaviors to integrate ideas into new creative.
  • Curate videos, photos, and trends from all corners of the internet, including art, music, dance, comedy, film, and influencer culture.
  • Manage editorial calendar to ensure key dates and holidays are observed.
  • Copywriting and community management
  • Spend time on set, on location, and in the field with talent to ideate and create social media content using a mobile phone.
  • Conduct outreach and brainstorm with creators, influencers, and publishers for collaboration opportunities. 
  • Help define social platform KPIs and prepare weekly and monthly analytics reports to better inform future creative decisions.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the creative team to aid in the continued improvement and optimization of content. 

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience managing a high visibility social account for a brand or talent.
  • Deep understanding of major social media platforms including (but not limited to) Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads.
  • Knowledge & familiarity with reporting platforms such as Sprout, Brandwatch, CrowdTangle, Netbase, etc.
  • Strong storytelling abilities and creative skills for social media. Must be able to provide samples of previous work.
  • Must be proficient with content creation apps such as CapCut, InShot, Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud

  • A strategic thinker, constantly thinking about how to supercharge platforms, tools, and people to reach a set of goals.
  • An ability to present and articulate a strategy that considers the essential elements for execution, including measures of success. 
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple workflows at once.
  • Knowledge and interest in digital culture, especially creators/influencers and their growing foothold within pop culture.
  • An idea factory, always coming up with new ways to keep content fresh.

At Westbrook, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine fair and equitable compensation. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure guidelines, the weekly pay for this role is between $2,500 - $2,750. The final offer amount will consider a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience relevant to the job and the company’s compensation philosophy.
