The Opportunity
We are seeking a mission-driven Social Media Manager with a broad base of experience in digital content creation to help elevate the MLT brand, grow audiences and engagement, and advance MLT’s organizational priorities. The Social Media Manager will craft and amplify our stories across MLT’s social media channels and website, helping raise visibility for the organization and helping grow our audiences, impact, and revenue.  This position reports to MLT’s Director of Marketing & Communications and is a member of MLT’s Marketing & Communications team. 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, keenly aware of current events, and energized by engaging with MLT’s community as we work toward our vision of empowering the next generation of diverse leaders and transforming society. 

The willingness and the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects as we both lead and respond to our colleagues’ varied needs is key. The role requires creative thinking and an understanding and appreciation of the different approaches to developing content that resonates with MLT’s various stakeholders. This person is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and ideally, will have experience with and insight into the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and curate social media content that builds brand awareness, engages key stakeholders, and positions MLT as a thought leader
  • Design and implement social media campaigns (ex. brand awareness, influencer engagement, and alumni spotlights) that showcase MLT’s social impact
  • Own and build out social media content publishing calendar, ensuring alignment with MLT’s broader organizational communications strategy Measure, test, and report on social media campaigns, using analytics tools to inform strategies and tactics for future campaigns
  •  Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay abreast of content creation and messaging opportunities
  • Collaborate on strategy for paid social campaigns
  • Ensure excellent user experience on the MLT website (www.mlt.org), recommending and executing content updates
  • Contribute to the work of the Marketing and Communications team as needed

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is required with 5+ years of social media management experience
  • A proven ability to engage and grow a social media following
  •  Track record of producing impactful, multimedia content
  • Fluency in all social channels, with a deep working knowledge of LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube
  • Proficiency with content management platforms and multi-social posting programs, such as HubSpot and WordPress
  • Experience with online community management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at various stages and with multiple stakeholders
  • Keen interest in tracking current events and all matters related to diversity equity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and internet ranking for web content
  • Experience with paid advertising platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google Ads
