About the Creator Accountability Network

The Creator Accountability Network (CAN) empowers Community Members to build trust with Content Creators through ethical training and credentialing, victim-centered reporting of unethical behavior, and the promotion of community healing through active accountability. 


The Opportunity

This volunteer role is remote and part-time, and offers a unique opportunity to help build safe online communities. You will work closely with the social media team and our program leads to create educational visual assets and monitor online content across CAN’s social media platforms. You will work to curate constructive, informative content that promotes a message of safe online spaces for all.


As a part of our team, you will be contributing to our mission of normalizing compassion, respect, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor social media posts to remove inappropriate interactions like spam and abuse.
  • Create graphics and visual content for social media, with guidance from our program leads.
  • Be on-call to respond on our social media accounts, and refer questions, complaints, and time-sensitive issues that are sent to CAN via social media to the appropriate channels.
  • Assist social media lead to write, edit, and schedule social media content across platforms.


What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in written and visual media.
  • A strong sense of internal composure, especially with respect to  heavy topics discussed online.
  • An intentional online voice that is consistent with CAN’s mission and brand, with a sense of judicious restraint.
  • Competence with social media platforms and administrative tools, especially Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn (other platforms a plus!).
  • Technical skills in graphic design or digital art.
  • A commitment to principles of ethical behaviour online. 
  • The ability to participate remotely online for approximately 4-8 hours per week.
