SOC Intern

The primary responsibility of a SOC analyst is to meticulously monitor the client's environment, detect any security incidents or suspicious activities, and promptly respond to mitigate potential threats as well as lend leadership to the more junior members of the team.  

As a SOC Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Under the guidance of experienced analysts, you will support various aspects of security monitoring, incident detection, and response activities, while also learning about industry-standard tools and techniques used in cybersecurity operations.

Key Responsibilities: 

Security Monitoring Assistance:
Assist in monitoring security events and alerts within client environments, including log analysis and investigation of potential threats. 

Incident Detection Support:
Aid in the detection of security incidents by analysing alerts and escalating potential threats to senior analysts for further investigation. 

Tool Management Assistance:
Assist in managing and maintaining security tools and systems used within the SOC, ensuring their optimal performance and effectiveness. 

Documentation and Reporting Support:
Help in documenting security incidents, investigation findings, and remediation actions taken, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders. 

Learning and Development:
Actively participate in training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance your understanding of cybersecurity concepts and practices. 

Qualifications: 

Educational Background:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field. 

Interest in Cybersecurity:
Strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn about security operations, incident response, and threat detection techniques. 

Analytical Skills:
Basic analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret security-related data and information. 

Communication Skills:
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members. 

Team Player:
Ability to work well within a team environment, follow instructions, and contribute positively to team goals and objectives.
