Role Overview

💻 Job Title: SNOC Engineer II (Network)
📍 Location: Mexico (Remote)
💰 Pay Rate: $43,000 to $45,000 MXN + Statutory Benefits
🕒 Schedule: Weekend AM + 3 Weekdays | Hours: 12:00 AM – 9:00 AM CST

As a SNOC Engineer II, you will play a critical role in detecting and responding to security threats, troubleshooting complex network and system issues, and performing root cause analysis to prevent future incidents. The SNOC Engineer II (Network) works across security, network, systems, and cloud domains to ensure operational stability and compliance.


Your Mission as a SNOC Engineer II (Network)

  • Detect and respond to security threats across network, systems, and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent future incidents.
  • Act as an escalation point for unresolved alerts/issues.
  • Mentor SNOC Engineer I team members and assist with technical development.
  • Create and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base documentation.
  • Collaborate on projects to integrate new technologies and improve reliability.
  • Support compliance initiatives (CMMC, SOC 2, ISO 27001).

Network Operations Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot network incidents beyond initial triage (routing issues, packet loss, VLAN misconfigurations).
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring network issues.
  • Understand and support advanced network protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP, VPNs, QoS).
  • Configure or validate changes to network devices under established change management processes.
  • Tune and maintain network monitoring tools (thresholds, alerting rules).
  • Assist with upgrades and maintenance windows (switch firmware, firewall rule updates).
  • Provide mentorship to SNOC Engineer I on troubleshooting and escalation practices.
  • Collaborate with vendors/ISPs for escalated connectivity issues.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications – CUCM, Unity Connection, and UCCX.
  • Familiarity with multiple firewall manufacturers: Cisco ASA/Firepower, Meraki, Palo Alto Networks (PAN), Fortigate, etc.

What You Bring to the Team

Education & Certifications

  • Associate’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred certifications:
    • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Network+
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
    • ITIL Foundations

Experience & Skills

  • 2+ years in SOC, NOC, IT support, or infrastructure operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills across security, network, systems, and cloud domains.
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms, monitoring tools, and alert management systems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
