Pennon is embarking on a major transformational programme to deploy smart meters to over 850,000 customers during AMP8. This ambitious programme will introduce new operating models, innovative partnerships, and a single technical solution that supports all Pennon brands.
We are looking for a Smart Project Manager – Field Delivery to take full ownership of the Field Delivery workstream, playing a critical role in the successful cross-group delivery of this programme.
The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, with a salary of £53,000–£60,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
What you will be doing:
Own and deliver the Field Delivery programme workstream, ensuring alignment with Pennon requirements.
Work closely with third parties, including meter manufacturers and network providers, to ensure timely delivery.
Oversee delivery of early rollouts in conjunction with operational leads, ensuring targets are met.
Manage business readiness activities for the field delivery function.
Develop, own, and manage the project plan for Field Delivery, including effective transition of services.
Maintain strong communication channels across all levels of the organisation, ensuring field teams are informed and engaged.
Support the shaping of the MVP and longer-term roadmap for smart delivery.
Collaborate with HR teams to manage people-related impacts of change.
Facilitate large workshops and ensure full coordination of activities across programme workstreams.
What we are looking for:
Proven experience in project/programme management, preferably in a large, complex organisation.
Demonstrable experience managing diverse stakeholders, including front-line teams and executives.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload effectively.
Experience managing field-based teams.
Confident communicator capable of leading workshops and engaging across multiple levels of the business.
Desirable Qualifications:
Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent).
Technical understanding of metering hardware, infrastructure, and systems.
