Pennon Group is launching a significant transformation programme to roll out smart meters to more than 850,000 customers throughout AMP8.
This high-profile initiative will drive new ways of working, foster innovative partnerships, and implement a unified technical solution across all our brands.
We are looking for a Smart Project Manager to lead and deliver the Customer workstream within this programme.
This pivotal role will ensure customer needs are clearly defined, fully integrated, and successfully delivered across the Group.
The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, with a salary of £53,000–£60,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
What you will be doing:
As Project Manager, you will take end-to-end ownership of delivery for the Customer workstream, working across all brands amongst the wider Pennon Group, and key delivery partners. You will ensure customer needs are embedded into new operating models, service journeys and technology solutions, while maintaining strong governance, communication and control.
Key Responsibilities
Own and deliver the Customer workstream within the smart metering programme
Develop and manage detailed project plans, milestones, and dependencies
Engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, from frontline teams to senior leaders
Lead business readiness and change activities for Customer teams
Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues
Coordinate closely with other programme workstreams to ensure integrated delivery
Own customer-facing communications for the workstream
Ensure delivery meets agreed quality, timeline, and customer outcomes
What we are looking for:
Proven experience delivering complex projects or programmes in large organisations
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience working in customer-focused or service-led environments
Ability to operate confidently in a fast-moving, change-driven programme
Highly organised, delivery-focused, and comfortable taking accountability
Experience facilitating workshops and driving outcomes
Desirable:
Formal project management qualification
Experience with utilities, infrastructure, or smart metering environments
