We currently have a role available for a Small Molecule Purification Chemist.

 

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying, characterizing and purifying small molecule pharmaceutical compounds using analytical and chromatographic techniques (UPLC, HPLC, prep-LC, SFC, LC-MS, etc.).
    • Accustomed to purifying samples weighing between milligram - over 100 g samples; completing 50+ samples/wk.
    • This DOES NOT include protein, oligonucleotide and other large molecules.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on instrumentation as needed.
  • Rapidly developing unique and effective methods on LC and SFC.
  • Investigating LC-MS columns/methods for specific projects.
  • Working as a team with other chemists, external resources and data management groups.
  • Providing critical feedback to improve workflow and chemistry performance and implementation of best practices.

 

Job requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • MS in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field with 3+ years of pharma laboratory experience outside of academia/academic research.  BS in Biochemistry or related field with 5+ years of experience will also be considered.
  • Extensive theoretical knowledge of UPLC, LC, LC-MS required, as well as hands-on experience with Waters and Agilent systems.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Works well both within a team and as an individual.
  • Demonstration of excellent team player and collaboration skills, very strong attention to detail, very strong problem-solving skills, a high level of learning agility, and the ability to work across functions.
  • The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the leadership and communication skills necessary to operate effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment with flexibility and an adaptable approach to goal delivery.
