SM - 07- Mid-Level PHP Engineer

Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Mid-Level PHP Engineer to join their product engineering team and contribute to the core systems behind a high-traffic, business-critical platform used by thousands of customers across Europe.

You’ll work on backend systems that support ordering flows, production processes, integrations, and internal tooling — ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.

This is a hands-on backend role suited for engineers who enjoy solving real business problems with pragmatic, maintainable solutions.

Important Notes

• Salary is approximately €1,500/month, structured as a stable full-time role (not freelance/hourly), with limited room for negotiation due to budget sensitivity.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain PHP backend services powering ordering, production workflows, integrations, and internal tools

• Deliver new features, improvements, and refactors with a focus on performance and reliability

• Build and maintain integrations using APIs, webhooks, and background processing

• Improve code quality through refactoring, better architecture, and testing

• Collaborate with product, frontend, and other stakeholders to ship b

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience building backend systems in PHP

• Experience with modern PHP frameworks, clean code practices, and testing

• Strong backend mindset: APIs, scalable patterns, and logic-heavy systems

• Experience with integrations (REST, webhooks, third-party systems)

• Solid relational database knowledge and ability to write efficient queries

• Comfortable with Git and working in distributed teams

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative attitude
