At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

Join Our Team

GoDaddy is looking for a Site Development Engineer to join our Monitoring and Observability team. In this role, you’ll help ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of infrastructure that serves millions of customers worldwide. You’ll work at the intersection of development and operations to build and maintain observability solutions that enable proactive monitoring and rapid incident response across cloud and on-prem systems.

What you’ll get to do...

Observability & Monitoring

  • Design and maintain monitoring solutions covering metrics, logs, and traces
  • Deploy and manage monitoring infrastructure using tools such as Grafana Labs ecosystems, ICINGA2, Site24x7, SNMP, and API integrations

Reliability & Incident Response

  • Respond to automated alerts and production incidents
  • Participate in on-call rotations supporting global operations
  • Partner with engineering teams to resolve availability, performance, and security issues

Automation & Tooling

  • Build automation to reduce operational overhead and improve reliability
  • Develop self-service observability tooling for engineering teams
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for monitoring infrastructure

Your experience should include...

  • 5+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure operations
  • 5+ years of Linux/Unix systems expertise and performance troubleshooting
  • 3+ years of experience with observability platforms (metrics, logging, tracing, visualization)
  • 3+ years of configuration management experience (Ansible, Puppet, or similar)
  • 3+ years of professional experience in or scripting (Python, Go, Bash, JavaScript, etc.)
  • 3+ years of professional experience with event correlation or incident platforms
  • 2+ years of professional experience with containerization and orchestration
  • Hands-on incident response and on-call participation
  • Professional experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation

  • Experience with modern observability stacks
  • Background supporting large-scale distributed systems
  • Synthetic monitoring platform experience
