As the Site Reliability Engineer, you will be a part of a high-performing team that will develop APIs and microservices for phoenixNAP’s infrastructure services using DevOps methodology. You would need to have experience with agile software development, DevOps automation and CICD in cloud-based environments.

 

In this role, you will work closely with peer architects, engineers, scrum masters, and product owners within a scrum team to develop, test, and deploy API products in an iterative and collaborative manner.


Location: Malta/Serbia/Remote (+/-3 hours CET) 

Working hours: 40h/week, Monday-Friday.


Key Job Requirements:



  • Automate the delivery and deployment of APIs and microservices to containerized infrastructure environments
  • Act as intermediary between the DevOps team and the enterprise CICD team to ensure alignment of software delivery and deployment methodology using the enterprise CICD pipeline
  • Perform system administrative tasks on Linux-based systems
  • Build and maintain automation scripts as part of client feature delivery
  • Research and perform proof-of-concept on new technology


Key Skills and Qualifications:



  • Extensive experience with infrastructure automation tools, such as TerraForm, Puppet, Chef and Ansible
  • Extensive experience with CICD tools, such as Jenkins, Artifactory, GIT etc.
  • Extensive experience with Linux
  • Experience with agile development and DevOps methodology
  • Experience with container and cloud-native technology, such as Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh, etc.
  • Good understanding of virtualization technology
  • History of successful research and proof-of-concept of new technology
  • Good communication, collaborative and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills:


  • Experience with Cloud technology, such as AWS, Azure, OpenStack, VMWare etc.
  • Experience with programming languages, such as Java, C#, Python etc.
  • Experience with API Gateway products, such as Apigee, MuleSoft etc.
  • Experience with relational databases, such as MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis
  • Experience with OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML based system, such as KeyCloak
  • Understanding of networking concepts, such as switching, routing, BGP, VLAN, SDN
  • Understanding of bare metal server automation, such as IPMI, PXE
  • Highly motivated in learning new technology
