Signing Authority / Driver Trainer Ontario B Class - Carp, ON

Position Overview

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, as a Signing Authority/Trainer you will be responsible for training/teaching employees how to drive all Company owned vehicles in a safe and professional manner. Your role also includes providing a high degree of customer service in a fast-paced work environment.

In addition to training our school bus drivers you may also:

• Drive a school route as required
• Complete driving assessments on current and future employees
• Visit our park out locations to maintain consistent practices at all locations
• Participate in ride-alongs with drivers and driver hopefuls
• Re-train existing drivers in order to support continuous improvement and excellence
• Assist new and existing drivers wit challenges related to routes / student behaviour / stop issues
• Instruct Voyago divisional training as required
• Facilitate Licence upgrade training (B class)
• Instruct outside training programs as required by school division manager

Requirements

Your Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to, the following:

• You will hold a B licence held for a minimum of 3 consecutive years (mandatory)
• You possess clean driving record and Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• You have Excellent proven customer service experience.
• You have in-depth knowledge of Ottawa and surrounding area.
• You have good organization and communications skills.
• You have availability to work flexible hours.
• You have an understanding of vehicle for hire industry.
• You have knowledge of wheelchair tie downs and q-straint.
• You have previous instructional / teaching experience.
• You may have previous Driver Assessment experience.
• You may have instructional experience in B,D,E,F licences
• You are willing to drive a school route as required (spare driver)
• You are excited to provide Instruction of Voyago divisional training as required
• You understand the importance of maintaining a professional attitude inside and outside of the workplace which includes responsible use of Social Media as a representative of the Voyago brand.
• You are willing to travel to Complete a Professional Instructor in Driver Education (PRIDE) program or Equivalent (Voyago will register and cover cost) This is conducted in the GTA area over a 7-10 day period.

• Pay rate for FULLY certified Signing Authority is $26.00 / hour when training and driving. When driving a school route and during the certification training time, you are paid $23.00/hour.
