As a Short-Term Operations Intern, you will support the day-to-day analytical and operational activities of the short-term gas and power portfolio. You will work closely with the Short-Term Operations and Trading teams, contributing to forecasting, optimization, and reporting processes that directly impact market operations, balancing costs, and portfolio efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop short-term forecasts of gas and electricity demand for various customer segments
- Produce short-term renewable generation forecasts, including wind and solar.
- Build and maintain optimization tools for renewable production profiles and energy storage operation.
- Support the calculation of balancing charges and related financial exposures.
- Prepare performance reports on short-term trading and balancing efficiency.
- Collaborate with traders, dispatchers, and analysts to support decision-making in intraday and day-ahead operations.
- Improve existing analytical workflows and contribute to automation initiatives.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Economics with quantitative focus).
- Practical experience with Python / R for data analysis and modeling.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, SQL and relational databases.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an operational setting and communicate technical insights clearly.
- Fluent in Polish and basic working proficiency in English.
