As the Mission Readiness Shift Lead on Zoox’s Mission Readiness team, you will be responsible for the readiness of all vehicle assets, both L3 and robotaxi platforms, that are based in your geosite office during your scheduled shift. This includes, but is not limited to, deploying the correct software and firmware to the right vehicles at the right time, conducting pre-mission checks, and ensuring that the shop facility is in a ready state to support operations. Additionally, you will assist the Team Lead for your location in accurate data tracking toward team KPIs. Travel Requirements: less than 20% Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 12am In this role, you will:
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to contract staff at your location.
  • Ensure both the L3 fleet and the VH6 service vehicles are ready and on time for their missions. Track issues that cause any delays in start time for both L3 and robotaxi platforms. Provide logistical support for the movement and storage of vehicles and equipment.
  • Engage in the recruiting and hiring process for workshop personnel. Provide new-hire onboarding, training, and clear communication of expectations. Assist in the creation and management of contract employee schedules, including time-off.
  • Support the analysis, documentation, and reporting of data. Assist with paperwork and documentation related to vehicle readiness.
  • Enforce all health and safety policies in the workshop. Ensure the workshop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous and/or hazardous material following company and OSHA guidelines.
  • Support the readiness of spare parts and the associated inventory.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential issues, challenges, or opportunities that may arise within the team.
  • Qualifications
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in an operations-based environment
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn technical subjects.
  • Clean driving record with zero points on the record.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Team player who collaborates well cross-functionally. Excellent written and verbal skills. Must be honest, responsible, and an outstanding communicator.
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Google Suite, especially Excel or Sheets

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (business management, operations, finance, etc.)
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, automotive, mobility, or a similar safety-critical industry 
  • Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic service environment.
