Role Overview

Shift Coach (Green Shift) - Days 6am - 6pm/4 on 4 off

£14.29 per hour

As a Shift Coach based at our Spalding fulfillment centre, you will be the practical learning expert at the heart of our operations. Your mission is to ensure every colleague on the factory floor has the skills, confidence, and knowledge to perform safely and effectively. You will bridge the gap between training and real-world results, driving quality and performance across all production areas.

Core Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Training: You’ll spend approximately 70-80% of your time on the factory floor, delivering practical training and coaching to colleagues in real-time.
  • Expert Guidance: You will train colleagues on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety modules, ensuring high standards are consistently met.
  • Continuous Support: From delivering site inductions for new starters to supporting ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) learners, you will be a champion for growth and inclusion.
  • Performance Impact: You’ll use data to identify skills gaps and deliver targeted coaching that directly improves our site’s efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborative Partnership: You will work closely with Operations, Health & Safety, and Engineering teams to ensure our learning activities align with site priorities.

Who You Are

  • Experience: Proven experience in coaching, training, or mentoring within a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of Health & Safety, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and quality assurance.
  • Qualifications: A Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) and Level 3 Food Safety (or a willingness to achieve these within your first 6 months).
  • Digital Fluency: Comfort using digital learning tools and management systems to track and record training data (LMS, Ithrive or equivalent)
  • Communication Skills: The ability to adapt your style to diverse audiences and inspire confidence in others.
