We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Developer - Technical Lead to design, develop, and optimize end-to-end solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will lead and mentor developers, ensure high-quality and well-documented delivery, and partner closely with service owners, process owners, and cross-functional teams.

In this role, you will design and implement complex workflows and integrations, ensuring seamless configuration, performance, and optimization of the ServiceNow instance. You will drive solution design, lead requirements sessions, perform code reviews, deliver demos, present at Change Control Boards, and oversee deployments.

This position requires deep expertise in ServiceNow architecture, third-party integrations, and full SDLC execution—from initial development through implementation. Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions aligned with business requirements and platform best practices.
  • Lead development lifecycle end-to-end, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, customization, and deployment.
  • Develop and optimize workflows, service requests, business rules, UI policies, automations, and integrations using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and scripting.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, ERP, HRIS, project tools) using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, JDBC, and other technologies.
  • Ensure platform performance, security, compliance, and governance, including monitoring health and usage.
  • Lead platform upgrades, patches, module rollouts, and custom application development across ITSM, HRSD, and other modules.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers; conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and architectural guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, perform performance tuning, and support capacity planning.
  • Maintain data quality and integrations, including data loads, transformations, and maintenance across connected systems.
  • Participate in Agile development, analyzing requirements and user stories to deliver high-quality, iterative enhancements.
  • Create technical documentation, requirements definitions, specifications, and provide stakeholder training as needed.
  • Support governance and change processes, including demos, CCB presentations, and release planning.
  • Stay current with ServiceNow releases and recommend enhancements to maximize platform capability.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you'll have:


12+ years of ServiceNow development and architecture experience, including leading end-to-end solution design and mentoring developers.

  • Deep expertise across major ServiceNow suites (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CMDB, SPM) and building scoped/custom applications.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Service Portal, and platform scripting.
  • Expert experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP, MID Server, JDBC, and modern API frameworks.
  • Proven track record in platform performance tuning, CMDB/data modeling, Discovery/Service Mapping, and maintaining instance governance.
  • Experience with Service Portal development using AngularJS, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MID Server, LDAP, SSO, OAuth, and Web Services integration.
  • Experience in ServiceNow Scoped Applications and Custom App Development.
  • Strong understanding of upgrade strategies, security models, access controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience applying AI or automation to workflows, insights, or decision-making, with ability to evaluate emerging platform capabilities.
  • Skilled in Agile/Scrum and Dev Sec Ops practices with excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management.
  • ServiceNow certifications: CSA (Certified System Administrator) and CAD (Certified Application Developer) required;
  • Nice to have CIS (ITSM/ITOM/HRSD/SPM), Advanced Admin, or Architect certifications preferred.

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
