OVERVIEW
iTech AG is seeking a ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Developer to support the configuration, customization, and integration of the ServiceNow HAM module in alignment with Department of Energy (DOE) and Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) requirements. This role is responsible for enabling end-to-end lifecycle management of IT hardware assets, ensuring accurate asset tracking, CMDB alignment, and compliance with established governance, quality assurance, and configuration management standards.
Working under the direction of the ServiceNow Technical Architect and Functional Lead, the HAM Developer will implement out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities, develop automated workflows, integrate discovery and inventory data sources, and support testing, reporting, and knowledge transfer activities. The position plays a critical role in establishing ServiceNow as the authoritative system of record for hardware assets and associated configuration items.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configure and implement ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) functionality, including asset models, lifecycle states, and normalization rules.
- Develop and maintain HAM workflows and automation supporting hardware request, approval, deployment, transfer, and retirement processes.
- Integrate hardware asset data with the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- Configure and validate integrations with discovery and inventory sources (e.g., SCCM, ServiceNow Discovery, data imports).
- Establish and maintain relationships between hardware assets and configuration items to support ITOM Visibility and CMDB accuracy.
- Implement data quality, reconciliation, and governance controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of hardware asset data.
- Support testing, defect resolution, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for HAM functionality.
- Develop and support HAM dashboards, reports, and documentation to enable operational visibility and stakeholder reporting.
- Participate in knowledge transfer and training activities, supporting long-term sustainment and operational readiness.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5–8 years of overall IT experience, with 3–5 years of hands-on ServiceNow implementation experience.
- Direct experience implementing ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) in an enterprise environment.
- Strong experience with:
- ServiceNow asset tables and CMDB
- Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer
- Import Sets, Transform Maps, and integrations
- Experience working in regulated or government environments (DOE, federal, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-team, matrixed project environment.
