We are seeking a highly skilled Senior and Mid-Level ServiceNow Developer to support a mission-critical federal program in Baltimore, MD. In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance ServiceNow solutions that drive automation, operational efficiency, and enterprise reporting across complex IT environments. You will collaborate closely with architects, stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver scalable workflows, lead solution design discussions, and develop architecture artifacts that extend beyond individual user stories. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on ServiceNow development experience, strong technical leadership, and a proven ability to support federal clients while maintaining required certifications and eligibility for a Public Trust clearance. This position requires full-time, on-site support (5 days per week).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide development support for ServiceNow projects and enhancements.
  • Develop process workflows and automation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the team in architecture design development and reviews.
  • Lead the development of solution artifacts, such as road maps, optimization of operations, architecture and/or block diagrams with a view outside of User Story requirements.
  • Create and maintain Forms, Reports, Views, Workflows, Groups, and Roles
  • Create, maintain, and enhance Dashboards and reporting, including scheduled reports
  • Assist with the design, creation, and cataloging of business process flows
  • Work with other members of the ServiceNow development team to propose solutions based on business needs and strategies
  • Developing, configuring, and customizing the ServiceNow platform to fit business requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Follow, maintain, and apply documentation best practice policies, procedures, and processes throughout ServiceNow development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input to support ongoing business needs for Service Now configuration, implementation, and support
  • Review and apply any additional UI/UX requirements from the external and internal teams, and align with ServiceNow development
  • Utilizes available programming methodologies and languages and adheres to coding standards, procedures, and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation
  • Design and implement solutions following established Configuration Management policies and standards
  • Willingness to further grow and enhance skillset from more senior developers throughout each project

 

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience; or
  • 1 year of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
  • 7+ years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.


Certifications (Must hold the following certifications):

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • At least 2 ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications, showcasing deep expertise in multiple ServiceNow areas such as ITSM, ITOM (HAM and SAM), Discovery, Service Mapping, CSM, SPM, or APM
  • Team members are also expected to uphold and maintain appropriate certifications for their practice expertise


ServiceNow Expertise:

  • Minimum: At least 3+ years of experience with technical discussions and reviews.
  • At least 5+ years of ServiceNow development
  • 3+ years of experience with developing ServiceNow solutions across various platform applications, such as ITSM, ITOM (HAM and SAM), ITBM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, HR
  • 3+ years of Industry experience (e.g. Financial Services, Healthcare, High Tech, Manufacturing, Retail, etc.)
  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience driving change/solutions.
  • Experience with commonly integrated third-party technologies
  • Excellent understanding of system architecture, design principles, and impacts
  • Experience supporting IT-related data integrity (CMDB, HAM, SAM, etc.)
  • Experience with ServiceNow upgrades


Advanced Development Skills:

  • Expertise in ServiceNow Development APIs for building custom solutions.
  • Experience with implementing Java scripting to support automation across the various modules in ServiceNow
  • Experience with REST and SOAP web service protocols
  • Experience with Business Rules, Workflow, Identification Rules, Workspaces, and External Portals
  • Knowledge of SAML, Active Directory, or LDAP
  • Specialized ServiceNow Developer Certifications, including ITSM, HAM, SAM, ITBM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, TRM/APM, or HR
  • Project Management or Agile certification
  • ITILv4 Foundations Certification


Methodology:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management practices.


Client-Facing and Presentation Skills:

  • Comfortable presenting to large audiences, including senior leadership, government clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain complex technical solutions in clear, non-technical terms.


Other Qualifications:

  • Excellent technical leadership skills and initiative to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow work with the US Federal Government
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to deliver technical solutions and succinctly
  • Ability to multitask and self-assign work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership. Candidate shall have the ability to develop and present management-level briefings
  • Demonstrate potential and willingness to learn and adapt to rapid changes in technology

Salary Range

The salary range for the ServiceNow Developer position is competitive and commensurate with experience, typically between $120,000 – $155,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for career development.
