OVERVIEW
iTech AG is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Architect to support a federal program by leading the design, development, and implementation of secure, scalable, and compliant ServiceNow solutions. This role serves as a senior technical authority across the ServiceNow platform, responsible for defining architectural standards, guiding development teams, and ensuring solutions align with federal requirements, industry best practices, and mission objectives.
The ServiceNow Architect will work closely with government stakeholders, program leadership, and cross-functional delivery teams to translate complex business and technical requirements into well-architected ServiceNow solutions. This includes overseeing platform design, custom application development, portal and user experience design, and system integrations, while ensuring compliance with security and governance standards such as FedRAMP.
The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of hands-on ServiceNow development experience and architectural leadership, with the ability to operate effectively in Agile and SAFe environments. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can balance technical depth with strategic thinking, provide mentorship to development teams, and ensure the long-term health, scalability, and security of the ServiceNow platform in a federal setting.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the technical lead and architectural authority for the ServiceNow platform within a federal environment
- Design, define, and maintain the overall ServiceNow solution architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with federal standards
- Lead the architecture and development of ITSM, CSM, and custom ServiceNow applications
- Architect, design, and oversee the implementation of ServiceNow portals and web-based user experiences
- Design and govern REST-based integrations between ServiceNow and external systems
- Establish and enforce ServiceNow development standards, architectural patterns, and governance processes
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ServiceNow developers and implementation teams
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to translate requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions
- Ensure platform configurations and customizations align with FedRAMP and federal security requirements
- Support platform upgrades, performance tuning, and technical debt reduction initiatives
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design reviews, and solution validation activities
- Support and operate within Agile and SAFe delivery frameworks, including participation in PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement
- Evaluate and recommend the use of ServiceNow AI capabilities where appropriate to improve efficiency and user experience
- Identify risks and proactively recommend architectural improvements to ensure long-term platform stability and maintainability
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- 6+ years of experience in a ServiceNow development and/or architect capacity
- 2+ years of experience serving in a ServiceNow Architect role
- 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow portal and web development
- 2+ years of experience building and supporting custom ServiceNow applications
- 2+ years of experience designing and implementing REST-based integrations
- Demonstrated experience working within Agile and SAFe delivery frameworks
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, data model, and best practices
- Ability to design secure, scalable solutions in federal or regulated environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with government and contractor stakeholders
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- At least one ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS):
- CIS – IT Service Management (ITSM) or
- CIS – Customer Service Management (CSM)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Both CIS–ITSM and CIS–CSM
- Additional ServiceNow certifications
- Relevant Agile or SAFe certifications (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practitioner, Scrum certifications)
