About the Role

Vital is hiring a hands-on Service Technician to assist with the maintenance, installation, and upgrade of PVD (physical vapor deposition) systems, including inline and cluster tools. This is a support-focused role ideal for individuals with a technical background in mechanical or electrical systems who are looking to grow within the thin film equipment field.

The role involves a combination of in-house work and on-site service support under the supervision of senior engineers or service leads. You'll assist with routine service tasks and gain experience on advanced deposition equipment used in industries like solar, semiconductor, and optics.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance, assembly, and basic troubleshooting of PVD systems
  • Assist with on-site installations and upgrades, working under direction of a senior engineer or lead technician
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections
  • Document service tasks and maintain accurate records of work completed
  • Follow safety protocols and cleanroom procedures at customer sites
  • Communicate service updates and technical findings to internal teams
  • Travel as needed (approx. 25%) to customer facilities to support field work


Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience in a technical service, maintenance, or equipment support role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and interpreting technical drawings
  • Basic familiarity with vacuum systems, thin film tools, or industrial equipment is a plus
  • Willingness to learn and work under supervision in field environments
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel for field support (~25%), typically under guidance from the service team
